Tanya Lewis-Kelly is the Regional
Director of the Volunteer Consulting Group. Her responsibilities
include: (1) Working with nonprofit organizations in defining
their board recruiting priorities and finding qualified candidates
to fill them; (2) Work with businesses in preparing their employees
for board service; and (3) Board Consulting.
Prior to joining VCG, Ms. Lewis-Kelly worked at the Center For
Court Innovation--a nonprofit organization that develops national
demonstration projects, which test how courts can better serve
its constituencies. During these seven years she held positions
as Senior Planner, Director of Youth and Family Programs and
Deputy Project Director for the Harlem Community Justice Center.
In her capacity as Deputy Project Director she managed all fundraising
and grant administration and authored $3M in successful proposals.
From 1993 through 1996, Ms. Lewis-Kelly worked as a Program
Associate and Research Manager at the Children's Defense Fund
where she researched principle data for nationwide public education
material and developed talking points for internationally recognized
child advocate, Marian Wright Edelman. In addition, she held
positions at the Westchester County Press as a Managing Editor
and the United States House of Representatives under Congresswoman
Nita M. Lowey as a Field Representative.
Ms. Lewis-Kelly has a B.S. from Cornell University. She was
a Public Policy Major at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School
of Public Service at New York University and a Center on Budget
and Policy Priorities Everett Fellow.
Ms. Lewis-Kelly resides in Hastings-On-Hudson with her husband
and daughter. |
